A Clear Vision for Our Future

Apr 27th, 2018

Annunciation is blessed to have almost 100 years of Catholic education to thousands of children from South Minneapolis and surrounding communities. In this time, Annunciation has always sought to create a school that fits the needs of the students to help them be the person God has called them to be.

In recent years, we have had the opportunity, through our strategic planning process, to once again seek the best way to educate our children for today. It is important to have a clear vision for our future and our strategic plan gives us that vision. It is also important to be able to communicate that well, so people know what we are all about. Our mission statement helps provide that message.

In our journey to become an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, one of the tasks was to review our school’s mission and the mission of IB to see how they fit together. After several sessions with staff and school advisory members to identify the most important elements of our lived vision and mission, we saw the opportunity to create a statement that was concise and clear – sharing our vision for the future. We were fortunate to have parents provide their creativity and expertise to gather the input from our previous sessions and create a new mission and vision statement. After multiple reviews, discussions, reflections and prayers, our school leadership and Father Park have approved our new vision and mission.

Thanks to Jess Wolf and Jayne Dow Larkin for their help in developing our new vision and mission. We could not have done it without your creativity and expertise!

Please take a moment to read it over. We are really proud of who we are and what we are all about:

Vision

Annunciation Catholic School fosters each child’s potential to create a better world through faith, virtue, knowledge, and service to others.

In the end, all of our planning, efforts, and prayers help each student reach their true “Potentiality” – being all they are meant to be. What a privilege it is to be a part of Annunciation Catholic School. Everyone here gives their all to help each of reach our potential. Thanks for the part you play in making our school the best place for our young people to grow and learn. Amazing things continue to happen here!
