A Thank You that’s Ten Years Long!

Jun 22nd, 2018

As my ten years at Annunciation come to completion, I just want to say that I leave with a heart very full of gratitude for all that it has meant for me that we’ve shared in our Faith journey together over these years.

Thanks to all who came to the big parish celebration for all our volunteers and for Margaret Warnemunde, Donna Ohme and me on June 3rd. To see you and to receive your well-wishing was an overwhelming joy for me. I will savor your messages in your cards and notes for a long time to come.

Many people have been inquiring, “So what will you do with all the time you’re going to have now?” Well I do have my plans which include some sabbatical experiences. I’m planning to begin the 3-year Spiritual Direction Preparation Program that the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration sponsor in La Crosse. I’ll make at least one trip to Haiti next March, and I’ll also participate in an Ignatian Retreat in Daily Life. I plan to do some extensive visiting with members of my Community, the Congregation of St. Joseph, and with my family which is scattered from coast to coast. I plan to apply for the 2 week retreat in the Holy Land that is sponsored by CTU/Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, that will take place at the end of May/early June in 2019. After that, who knows, but my interests are in vocation ministry, Mission Haiti, and offering support to “Breaking Free”.

I’m sure I’ll be able to find my way from my new home in Cottage Grove back to Annunciation from time to time. I know that I’ll miss you and I’ll look forward to seeing you when I can.

Gratefully,

Sr. Sue
