Always Learning

May 4th, 2018

At Annunciation, we strive to prepare students to become active, caring, lifelong learners who demonstrate respect for themselves and others and have the capacity to participate in the world around them.

As a staff, we are committed to being lifelong learners.

This past weekend several staff members participated in a three-day International Baccalaureate professional development conference. Staff attended sessions including: Developing the Primary Years Program, Nurturing Creativity, and Pedagogical Leadership. We were learners along side over 400 International Baccalaureate educators from all over the world.

On Tuesday, our elementary teachers gathered to examine our current program of inquiry. As a team, we evaluated the significance, relevance, and depth of all 36 units of inquiry in our K-5 program. As part of this process, we gave each other meaningful feedback. Giving and receiving feedback gives us the opportunity to continue to grow and improve.

As life-long learners, we actively collaborate and reflect to construct and make meaning of the world around us!
