    Church News

Caring for God’s Creation & the Poor: “You pray for the hungry, then you feed them. This is how prayer works.” ~Pope Francis

Our local grocery stores have shown a real commitment to helping fight local hunger. One chain automatically donates 5 cents to Second Harvest for every reusable bag you bring. (Adding up to 1,080,000 meals donated so far!) Another gives you a 5 cent credit for each bag, and donates to the charity of your choice based on receipts. Almost all of them partner with local food shelves, donating expired unsold food that is safe for consumption.

    Weekender

Welcome to summer vacation! We hope this finds you and your student relaxed and rested as you transition into summer mode.

In order for our students to return to middle school feeling confident in math, we want them to practice math over the summer, to reduce what some in education call “summer learning loss.” It is neither our intent to overwhelm students nor to cause undue stress, but rather to offer an opportunity for students to review and reinforce concepts learned during the school year.

    Church News

Can you do some monthly grocery shopping for us?

Our wonderful, reliable shopper for Loaves and Fishes, Cindy Banovitz, is moving out of the country! I guess that's a good excuse to step down, so we need a new grocery shopper! It only takes about an hour a month, and likely less, since we'll have one or two back-ups for you. The first Monday of the month, we need someone to take our list and go purchase items at Sam's or Costco (you will be quickly reimbursed for this) and drop it all off at St. Stephen's by 2:30pm.

Hello Annunciation families!  I am proud to announce that I will be continuing the annual school supply drive at Annunciation.  As you clean out your desks and lockers this year, look for very gently used or new supplies to donate.  Each classroom will be given a grocery bag in which to collect supplies.  We will be donating our supplies to the Twin Cities Kids In Need Foundation, a local organization that collects supplies and donates them to local families and schools who cannot afford school supplies for their children.  It really means a lot to these families; they were thrilled to receive Annunciation’s donation last year.

    Thank you for helping me!
