Assessment Policy

Nov 17th, 2017

All International Baccalaureate (IB) schools are required to have a written, published, assessment policy. This assessment policy should reflect the school's philosophy and position on assessment.

Our policy at Annunciation is the result of a collaborative process between all staff members. It addresses:

  • The purpose of assessment (What and why we assess?)
  • Principles of assessment (What are the characteristics of effective assessments?)
  • Assessment practices (How do we analyze, document and communicate assessment results?)

As a school we recognize that assessment is an integral part of the teaching and the learning process. As a staff, we are taking this notion a step further by learning the most effective ways of providing students with feedback to inform and improve their learning.
