Enthusiasm

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP) balances the acquisition of knowledge and skills, the development of conceptual understanding, the formation of attitudes and the capacity to take responsible action.

The IB Attributes include caring, balanced, risk-taker, open-minded, communicator, inquirer, knowledgeable, principled, reflective and thinker. These IB-PYP Attitudes include appreciation, commitment, confidence, cooperation, creativity, curiosity, empathy, enthusiasm, independence, integrity, respect, and tolerance.

In the IB, enthusiasm is defined as an excitement for learning and life. It is enjoying the process and willingly putting the effort into the process.

Thanks to Mr.Nichols’ homebase for sharing with our community what they think it means to be enthusiastic.

At Annunciation, we have an atmosphere of that promotes learning. To foster this environment, we create opportunities to give students leadership roles in and outside the classroom. We encourage open communication, and we ask our students, staff and parents to share their joy, especially when it comes to learning new things. In addition, we recognize and celebrate our achievements.

Here are a few ways to bring joy to your family…

Start the day with hugs and a ‘good morning’.
Sneak a love note in your child’s backpack or lunchbox
Give your family and friends your attention
Share with your child why he/she is important to you and why you are proud of him/her
Pray together
Plan a surprise outing
Celebrate being a family!

“Enthusiastic people light up our lives with their delight in ordinary things.”
