Facilitating Passionate Curiosity

Mar 23rd, 2018

On this past Wednesday at our weekly staff meeting, Nancy Van Erp led teachers through an engagement on techniques for formulating quality questions with our students.

Nancy Van Erp is a former K-12 teacher who taught and coached elementary, middle school and high school. She earned a Master of Arts in Learning Technology and has been teaching teachers for the past 12 years. Nancy earned her Ph.D. online and her dissertation focused on critical thinking in the online graduate environment. She is a big fan of student-centered, constructivist and collaborative learning environments for learners of all ages. Nancy actively tweets about education and advocacy at @IfNotUsThnWho.

"This is where #thinking happens. #QFT is a great way to get students thinking in forms of questions. Requiring or encouraging #questions on tests or formative assessments/check-ins is a great practice too. People just need practice with the process/skill. #questioningisthinking."

We are so excited to pass these new techniques and methods to the students!
