Welcome to Nick Chalmers, Director of Music & Liturgy

Sep 19th, 2017

I am happy to announce that we have hired a new Director of Music and Liturgy for Annunciation—Nick Chalmers. Please welcome Nick to the Annunciation community! Here is a short bio that Nick wrote to introduce himself to the parish:

I am humbled and honored to be starting as Director of Music and Liturgy at Annunciation Church. I am a life-long Minnesotan, born and raised in Hopkins. I live in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis with my wife, Bethany, and our 15-month-old son, Teddy.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in music and history from St. Olaf College in May of 2007, and a Masters of Choral Conducting from the University of Minnesota in May of 2017. My musical pursuits now include performing as a singer and conductor, and working as an educator for youth and adults alike. I am the Artistic Director of a vocal sextet called the Mirandola Ensemble, and I perform with various groups around the Twin Cities and nationally including The Bach Society of Minnesota, The Rose Ensemble, Oratory, and Glorious Revolution Baroque. I also direct the choirs of Chesterton Academy, a grade 9-12 Catholic high school.

I am so very excited to personally meet all of you in the coming weeks and months, and I vow to remember as many names as possible!
