March Under the Cross-Incarnation Food Shelf
March Under the Cross Partner
Under the Cross Ministry’s goal is to learn about the good work happening around us, offer our time and talent in a service project at Annunciation or at the highlighted organization. Each month we will also offer a donation to the Under the Cross partner to support their work at building the Kingdom here on Earth.
Incarnation Church Food Shelf
Carol Beaurline started the Incarnation Food Shelf in 1983, serving everyone who came in need. It was located in the basement of the Rectory. After Carol retired, her son Tim Beaurline and Lynette Dzwonkowski kept the Food Shelf operating every Tuesday & Thursday for the next 37 years.
The Covid pandemic brought into focus the deep food insecurity within the heart of South Minneapolis. A new "Food Center" was designed by converting the four-car garage on the east end of the property into warm and welcoming space for all. The project was funded 100% by grants acquired by the Church of the Incarnation's development office at no cost to the parish. It broke ground late 2020 and was completed November 16th, 2021. Tim Beaurline passed away in the fall of 2022, after a year of seeing the amazing changes that took root from his mother's efforts.
Harvest from the Heart is dedicated to meeting the every-changing needs of South Minneapolis. Come see where we started, what we have become and how we plan to continue serving this community!
